Barrington Irving Technical Training School hosts student orientation to launch school’s opening

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. (September 12, 2023) -- The Barrington Irving Technical Training School (BITTS) hosts student orientation for selected candidates at the Opa-locka Executive Airport, with plans to launch the training academy on September 13, 2023.

Discussion of developing the vocational school began last February at The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in Opa-locka, Florida. At this conference, Oliver GIlbert III, Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners chairman, donated $100,000 on behalf of District 1 of Miami-Dade County to support Captain Barrington Irving, founder of BITTS and the Flying Classroom, in his efforts.

Twenty qualified candidates were hand-selected to be the first students in attendance at BITTS. Students will obtain industry certifications after completing a rigorous 8-week session of required courses. They will then have the chance to be directly hired by several different groups and organizations. Such hiring entities include: Bombardier, Signature Aviation, Xtreme Aviation, Landing Gear Technologies (LGT), and Atlantic Aviation.

The Barrington Irving Technical Training School is now taking applications for the next wave of students, whose orientation is set to take place upon the completion of the current 8-week session. Individuals interested in enrolling in the school should do so by filling out the application online.
